UIC is a pollution control, Federal or State, regulatory program that is required by law under the Safe Drinking Water Act.
The owner of the injection well, that is, the person responsible for constructing or operating the injection well.
Safe drinking water is a necessity for our health and livelihood. The Underground Injection Control (UIC) program serves to protect the quality of Hawaii's underground sources of drinking water from chemical, physical, radioactive, and biological contamination that could originate from injection well activity.
