Living in a metropolitan area we are all exposed to health risks related to noise, radiation and indoor air pollution.  The Indoor and Radiological Health Branch works to promote public health in the community, minimize morbidity and mortality from specific public health hazards, and optimize regulated activities and workplaces.

The Indoor and Radiological Health Branch conducts health and environmental-related assessments, develops policies, provides information as well as access to essential services, and directs its resources towards problems that pose the greatest risk to public health and the environment.

The following programs are supported by The Indoor and Radiological Health (IRH) Branch:

Community Noise
Radiation Control
Air-Conditioning/Ventilation
Asbestos
Lead-Based Paint
Indoor Air Quality
In addition, the branch operates the State Radiological Response Team under State Civil Defense.
